Our Story
Nick Formaro’s journey began long before his professional career. Growing up, he was inspired by his mother, a dedicated teacher who spent over three decades shaping young minds and instilling the values of education, patience, and hard work. Her unwavering commitment to her students served as a foundation for Nick’s own values of discipline and perseverance.
Discipline has always been a cornerstone of Nick’s life. A third-degree black belt in judo, Nick has practiced the martial art for over a decade and spent half of that time teaching others. His passion lies in helping people come through the ranks and grow both on and off the mat. Judo taught him not only physical skills but also the importance of mentorship, personal growth, and fostering a sense of community—values that have influenced every aspect of his life and work.
Nick is also deeply family-oriented, sharing his life with his fiancée, Tracy, who serves as the Community Director for New Wave Roofing and Solar. Tracy also works as a case manager, providing services and support to the disabled and elderly community, embodying the company’s mission of care and connection. Their daughter, Delaney, is currently attending Drake University with dreams of working for a publishing company as a copy and line editor. Delaney brings her passion for writing to New Wave Roofing and Solar as the Content Writer, crafting blogs that reflect the company’s mission, expertise, and connection to the community.
Nick’s professional career began in Human Services, where he spent nearly a decade helping individuals with disabilities thrive within their communities. His work centered on building trust, solving challenges, and empowering people to achieve their potential. But as rewarding as this chapter was, Nick eventually found himself drawn to industries where he could create even broader impacts.
For over half a decade, Nick has worked in the Solar, Roofing, and Construction industries. During that time, he partnered with some of Iowa’s largest companies, only to become disillusioned by the empty promises and lack of accountability that too often defined the industry. Tired of seeing customers left frustrated and unheard, Nick was ready to leave it all behind—until he met Randy at Eagle Point Solar.
